Young, Gage-Watts to lead Caddo Commission as new members are sworn in
Four new commissioners were sworn into Caddo Parish Commission Monday morning.
On Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. the Caddo Parish Commission held a ceremony during a special meeting at Government Plaza to swear in the 11 members of the commission.
The four new members sworn in were District 1, Chris Kracman; District 2, Gregory Young; District 3, Victor Thomas and District 10, Ronald Cothran.
Returning commissioners are District 4, John-Paul Young; District 5, Roy Burrell; District 7, Stormy Gage-Watts; District 8, Grace Anne Blake; District 9, John Atkins; District 11, Ed Lazarus and District 12, Ken Epperson, Sr.
The commission will host a special meeting on Jan. 16 to fill the current vacant seat of District 6.
In Aug. 2023, Steffon D. Jones was disqualified from running for District 6 Commission seat. Jones's removal from the race was due to unspecified issues at qualifying.
Following the swearing in members of the commission selected its 2024 leadership team. John-Paul Young was selected as the Caddo Parish Commission president, Stormy Gage-Watts was selected vice-president and Grace Anne Blake was selected as parliamentarian.
