If you'd bet $100 on Indians at start of winning streak and let it ride, you'd be a millionaire
The Cleveland Indians’ 22-game winning streak — which was extended Thursday night by a dramatic ninth-inning comeback that beget a 10th inning walk-off — is pretty phenomenal, but you know what would be even better? If you had put $100 on the Indians way back on Aug. 24 and just let it right until now.
How much money would you have by now? A cool $2.77 million.

That figure comes from sports betting site Covers, which calculated just how much the Indians winning streak could have fetched one bold bettor. Here’s how all the math worked out:
The #ClevelandIndians extend win streak to 22. If you bet on them each game & kept rolling over winnings you'd now be $2.7 million richer. pic.twitter.com/cvDgmtvv1p

Anybody got a DeLorean and a Flux Capacitor we can borrow real quick? You’ll have it back in just a minute, promise.
As far as we know, this is all a hypothetical. Nobody has come forward saying they’ve actually done this (and betting $1.7 million on a single baseball game might actually be insane) but if you have, we’d love to hear from you. Of course, if you’d done that, you’re probably not reading sports blogs right now. You’re probably out celebrating.
Covers says a 23rd straight win, if the money is rolled over again, would fetch $3.9 million.
