NEW YORK, March 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On March 15, 2017, many of New York's top media executives will gather again for the eighth annual Bowling for Breastcancer.org in support of Breastcancer.org, the leading resource for breast health and breast cancer information and support. Since its inception, the event, which takes place at Lucky Strike Manhattan, has raised over $3M. Bowling for Breastcancer.org is the organization's most successful annual fundraising event and is supported by sponsorships, tickets sales, and silent auction sales from the city's leading advertisers, publishers, and technology companies members. Register today to join the cause.
Over the years, 2,800 advertisers, agencies, and media executives from over 200 companies have participated in Bowling for Breastcancer.org.
"It's a remarkable message that our industry sends when we come out in big numbers and force to support Breastcancer.org each year," said Richy Glassberg, CEO of Medialets and founder of the event. "Over 19 million women and men, their families, friends, and communities stand to benefit, and breast cancer knows no boundaries. It has touched many of us at a personal or familial level as it does people around the world. This year, our event is less than a week after International Women's Day, which makes our work together even more timely. I invite everyone to join."
Funds from Bowling for Breastcancer.org have supported a number of major Breastcancer.org initiatives, including the Spanish website translation, technology upgrades, and Breastcancer.org's global prevention program. But there is still so much more to do.
This year's event sponsors include Active International, Adweek, Ai Media Group, AOL, Blast Public Relations, Blis, CBS, Celtra, Collective, Digiday, DoubleVerify, eMarketer, Extreme Reach, Facebook, Factual, Foursquare, Fox, Freewheel, Google, Hulu, Innovid, JP Morgan, Jumpstart, Medialets, MediaLink, Moat, NBCU, NYIAX, PulsePoint Inc, Remedy Health Media, Screenvision Media, Simulmedia, Snap Inc., Socialflow, TheStreet Inc., Tremor Video, Triplelift, and Waze.
Hope Wohl, Breastcancer.org CEO, explains, "As a nonprofit organization, we rely on fundraising events such as Bowling for Breastcancer.org to sustain the organization so we can better deliver on our mission. These generous contributions fund critical programs that help us deliver the right information to the right woman at the right moment so she can make the best decisions for her life. We are incredibly grateful to the Bowling for Breastcancer.org event committee, event sponsors, and all the attendees who came out to support us this year."
This year's Bowling for Breastcancer.org organizing committee is a volunteer group of industry executives, many of whom have supported the fundraiser from the start and several of whom have faced breast cancer themselves, including:
Co-chairs Richy Glassberg, Medialets, and Adrienne Skinner, eMarketer, and organizing members Larry Smith, LiveIdea; Leslie Laredo, Academy of Digital Media; Lana McGilvray, BlastPR; Sarah Fay, Glasswing Ventures; Dan Feldstein, Medialets; Jaclyn Frattali, Factual; Elizabeth Hellman; Tiara Swain; and Linda McCutcheon.
On the evening of the fundraiser, over 40 teams will compete. Lunches with executives from Google, IBM, Publicis, MEC North America, Facebook, eMarketer, and Starcom will also serve as auction prizes.
