New York's Gas Shortage Is About to Get Better

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has promised that government tankers are here and ready to help with the area's gas shortage and the mess that it's brought. Here's a tweet from the Governor this morning:

Gov confirms that #tankers moving into NY Harbor: "#fuel situation will be abated soon" #recovery

Our Dashiell Bennett explained the effect of the gas shortage brilliantly yesterday, noting the domino effect that happens when one gas station closes and the strain it puts on the others. As CNBC reported yesterday, 80 percent of all New Jersey gas stations were closed and about half of New York City's shared the same fate. And that led to local news stories of long lines and tempers flaring at gas pumps. Cuomo will have a full press briefing at 11 a.m. and we'll keep an eye on it, and let you know if a timetable for those tankers is mentioned.
