New York motorcyclist killed in crash on I-81 in Augusta County

AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A man from New York died after he fell off his motorcycle during a crash on Interstate 81 in Augusta County on Saturday, May 11.

According to the Virginia State Police, around 7:12 p.m., 47-year-old Jonathan A. Oles, from Montgomery, New York, was riding a 2023 Harley Davidson on I-81 South when he lost control.

Oles then fell off the motorcycle and hit the guardrail.

He died at the scene.

Man killed after SUV crashed into tree, overturned in Nelson County

State police said Oles was wearing a helmet during the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
