New York Giants sign nine-year NFL veteran and former Kimberly standout AJ Klein to practice squad

NEW YORK – Former Kimberly High School standout AJ Klein has signed with the New York Giants.

The Giants added the linebacker to their practice squad Monday. The team travels to London this week and will play the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Klein, 31, spent the past two seasons with the Buffalo Bills and is a nine-year veteran. He was previously with the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers.

He was released by the Bills on March 8 after playing in 15 games in 2021 and totaling 33 tackles, with four for loss, and an interception.

Klein, who played collegiately at Iowa State, has played in 134 regular-season NFL games with 81 starts. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Klein has a career total of 426 tackles, including 43 for loss, with 15.5 sacks, four interceptions, eight forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.
