New York Fashion Week 2018 Calendar: The Who, What, Where, When, and Why

A calendar of shows for New York Fashion Week including who is showing their collections and what to expect this September.

The countdown is on! New York’s Spring 2019 shows start on Wednesday. Tom Ford kicks things off early (or perhaps just on time?) on Wednesday night, ahead of a busy week of headliners and up-and-comers. We may be bidding farewell to summer—and yes, summer Fridays!—but there’s plenty to look forward to over a jam-packed eight days.

From Proenza Schouler’s and Rodarte’s returns to New York Fashion Week to Rihanna’s big party for her hit lingerie line Savage x Fenty, it’s an exciting week for both the fashion establishment and the new guard. The aspiring fashion designers in Parsons’s MFA program will lose a lot of sleep this week as they put the final touches on their debut collections, and, of course, Vogue Runway has its eye on the 2018 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund class. Their Spring collections will factor heavily into the judges’ decisions leading up to the awards ceremony on November 5.

What else is happening this week? Below, we’ve compiled Vogue Runway’s entire NYFW September 2018 schedule so you know what to expect, including but not limited to CDLM, the new line from Creatures of the Wind’s Christopher Peters, Ralph Lauren’s 50th-anniversary celebration under the stars in Central Park, and, Wes Gordon’s runway debut at Carolina Herrera. Other highlights to watch out for: Kenzo designer Humberto Leon’s film debut, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Velour’s show, and, of course, Marc Jacobs on September 12. From start to finish, Phil Oh will be shooting his best-in-class street style photos.
