New York’s EBT system will be down on Sunday; here’s what you need to know

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Electronic Benefits Transfer cardholders in New York will not be able to access benefits this upcoming Sunday.

The EBT system will go offline from 12:01 a.m. until 11 a.m. The pause is to upgrade the system and transfer to a new contractor.

State officials advised people to plan ahead because the cards will not allow them to make cash withdrawals, food purchases, or store purchases during that time. The EBT toll-free customer service helpline, mobile app, and online client portal will also be down.

For more information, cardholders should visit otda.ny.gov.
