York County deputy shoots teen during standoff

A York County sheriff’s deputy shot a 16-year-old in a standoff at an apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Arcadia Loop at 6:11 p.m. following a report of a person brandishing a firearm. When they arrived, the deputies found a person described as a juvenile male barricading himself in a vehicle, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. They believed this person was the individual referenced by the 911 caller.

The victim is being treated for his injuries at a hospital. No further information has been made available. The sheriff’s office confirmed the victim is a minor but did not release his age or name.

This is a developing story.
