New York is changing SNAP EBT vendors this weekend: What you need to know

New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance has announced the EBT system will be down Sunday, May 19, from 12:01 to 11 a.m. while the state changes over to a new EBT vendor.

The outage could last longer depending on how long it will take to switch vendors.

Shoppers are advised to plan ahead to grab all necessary groceries and essentials before Sunday.

Services that will be unavailable for SNAP EBT on Sunday:

  • Any food purchases

  • Customer service helpline

  • Mobile app

  • Online portal

  • Retail helpline

What EBT vendor transfer means for NY clients

After the vendor switch is completed, SNAP users will be able to go back to regular transactions. No need to change pins, or cards. Customer service hotline will be up and running like usual.

The ConnectEBT app and client portal will be replaced with the ebtEDGE app and client portal after the vendor transition.
