York: Appeal to trace two men over suspected corrosive substance attack

Police have issued an urgent appeal to trace two men in connection with a suspected corrosive substance attack on a man in York.

The victim, in his 30s, suffered serious burns to his back in the attack at an address in Fossway on Friday.

North Yorkshire Police said officers wanted to speak to Joshua Anthony Strickland, 29, and Robinson Peter Fitch Binks, 26, over the incident.

A woman, 41, has been arrested and bailed in connection with the attack.

A police spokesperson said the victim had undergone emergency treatment in hospital and was in a serious but stable condition.

The force said "intensive police searches and enquires" were ongoing to bring the two men into custody.

A spokesperson said: "To support this, we are urging people to report sightings and information about either man as a matter of urgency."
