FOX Weather Storm Tracker video shows 'particularly dangerous' tornado in West Central Texas
SAN ANGELO, Texas — Another enhanced severe weather risk day across the Lone Star State produced at least one large and violent tornado, with the threat of pop-up storms expected to continue through the weekend.
As has been the case for the past several days, thunderstorms developed during the afternoon and quickly attained severe criteria as they swept from West Texas and the Panhandle into Central Texas in the late evening.
A thunderstorm in Coke County, Texas, triggered the issuance of a Tornado Warning on Friday, which was considered to be a ‘particularly dangerous situation.'
FOX Weather Storm Tracker video showed what appeared to be a large rain-wrapped tornado around the community of Robert Lee, located on the north side of San Angelo.
There were no immediate reports of damage, but the threat of severe weather continued several hours after the first spotting of the twister.
The Storm Prediction Center received nearly 100 reports of severe weather from across the Plains, which included Grapefuit-sized hail, damaging winds and tornadoes.

A level 2 threat in West Texas lingers into Saturday, while Sunday at this point looks like a general well-deserved break in severe weather with only a Level 1 threat currently forecast by the Storm Prediction Center.
On Saturday, Midland, Texas, appears to be in the target zone where storms could be at their strongest, with large hail and even a few tornadoes.
A general thunderstorm zone will stretch from near the U.S.-Mexico border to Chicago, as an old front boundary serves as the focal point for many of the scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Forecasts are still trending toward a renewed significant severe weather threat for Monday in the heart of the Plains. Already even three days out, the SPC has given a Level 3 risk for central Kansas, including Wichita, with level 2 risks already covering Omaha and Kansas City.
And keeping with the severe weather theme this month, there are additional severe weather threats in the Plains and Midwest lasting into the middle of next week.
