Yates County man dies in single-vehicle crash

JERUSALEM, N.Y. (WETM) — One man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Yates County on Monday morning.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, a 2011 Chevy Equinox driven by 31-year-old Eric Earley of Bluff Point crashed in the Town of Jerusalem at about 8:30 a.m. on April 15. An investigation by the sheriff’s office found that Earley was traveling south on Skyline Drive and didn’t stop at the T-shaped intersection with East Bluff Drive.

After going through the intersection, the vehicle became airborne, hit the ground, and flipped over. First responders found Earley a short distance away from the vehicle, and he was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital by Penn Yan Ambulance.

Earley later died from his injuries at the hospital.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Penn Yan Ambulance, the Branchport Keuka Park Fire Department, Yates EMS, and Yates County OES responded to the scene of the crash.
