Microsoft’s recent Xbox One debut had its ups and downs, and there are still some burning questions that have not yet been answered. In terms of components, we won’t know all the winners until people start getting their hands on boxes later this year, but one big name was confirmed during Microsoft’s presentation: AMD will supply the eight-core Jaguar chipsets that power Microsoft’s next-generation video game console. This is obviously a big score for AMD, but it was unclear exactly how much the deal would be worth — until now.

Former AMD executive Bob Feldstein now works at Nvidia. Feldstein played a role in the deal to deliver a custom AMD Jaguar processor to Microsoft though, and he posted several details about his work on the project to LinkedIn following his departure from AMD. In doing so, he revealed that the project is worth more than $3 billion to AMD over the lifetime of the contract.

“AMD provided a custom silicon solution to Microsoft for the Xbox One, a game console and entertainment device,” Feldstein wrote on his LinkedIn profile page. “This required the coordination of multiple functional teams within AMD, as well as regular customer meetings with leadership teams responsible for handling the challenges of complex, muti-year deals. This project is valued at $3+B.”

The executive’s profile has since been update to remove details about the project, but a screenshot captured by Gamechup.com follows below.
