X Factor 2016: Adam Lambert wants to collaborate with Saara Aalto

It’s undeniable that Saara Aalto and Adam Lambert’s spine-tingling duet was one of the highlights of Saturday night’s X Factor final, with the pair teaming up for a perfect rendition of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for Saara to win the competition, with the Finnish hopeful eventually nabbing second place as Matt Terry took the crown of this year’s X Factor winner.

However, Saara definitely hasn’t lost out completely, with established star Adam admitting that he’d happily collaborate with the singer.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the BBC Music Awards, Adam said: “A collaboration? Who know but it is always possible.

“She is absolutely lovely, she has been tweeting me weeks before this all came out.

“I feel like it was meant to be, she is lovely.”

And with Twitter going absolutely crazy for Saturday night’s collaboration, we reckon that it was meant to be as well.

Adam made a name for himself on American Idol back in 2009, later joining Queen’s guitarist, Brian May, and drummer, Roger Taylor, on stage as a stand-in for the late Freddie Mercury.

However, Adam is keen to never be seen as trying to replace the iconic star, recently saying that he was dubious about releasing new music with May and Taylor because it wouldn’t feel right to have new Queen music without Freddie.

He explained: “Maybe it’s an issue of, is that Queen without Freddie? To me, Queen is Freddie… That’s why we’re billed as Queen plus Adam Lambert.

“I’m their guest who’s filling in by singing these songs and having a great time doing it. But it’s not necessarily Queen.”

However, Brian has been full of nothing but praise for Adam and has even dubbed him ‘a gift from God’, saying at the time: “I feel so privileged that we can still do this. We spend half our lives building this legacy of songs and contact with an audience, and we can still be out there and doing it.

“And it’s wonderful that we have Adam. You need an extraordinary figurehead, and we do have it in Adam. So it’s a gift from God. I call him a gift from God.”
