Wytheville man arrested after suspected meth allegedly found in home

CARROLL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says a man from Wytheville who was wanted on several charges is now in custody.

The Sheriff’s Office says on May 7, deputies along with the Virginia State Police Twin County Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant in the 80 block of Riggins Road in Austinville. During the search, law enforcement allegedly seized a large amount of suspected methamphetamine.

The Sheriff’s Office said 45-year-old Roy Christopher Cumbee was arrested and taken to Carroll County.

Cumbee was served on outstanding charges and charged with manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing, or possessing with intent to manufacture sell, give, or distribute a controlled substance or an imitation controlled substance of over 10 grams.

He is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.

The Sheriff’s Office says Cumbee is currently on state probation for narcotics and weapons violations from 2019.
