"I was really interested in flying and I thought that flying off of a carrier would be a really neat opportunity," Ash said in a Navy media announcement.

Three Navy tactical squadrons will participate in the flyover. There will be:

  • Two F/A-18F Super Hornets (representing Flying Eagles)

  • An F-35C Lightning II (Warhawks)

  • An EA-18G Growler (Vikings).

Ash is a member of Strike Fighter Squadron 122 - the Super Hornets.

"I love flying jets with my friends," she said.

"I learned that hard work, initiative and determination will get you far," Ash said in the release. "You can be the best person on a team, but the best leaders and team players are the ones who use their actions to speak for themselves.

Serving in the Navy is an opportunity to serve my country, while flying tactical aircraft in locations all around the world."

The game pits the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game begins at 5:30 p.m. on Fox.
