WWE legend Hacksaw Jim Duggan coming to Savini Comics

Mar. 1—Be prepared, tough guy! WWE legend "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan is coming to Logansport.

Knowing for battling bad guys with his 2x4 and waving the American flag before and after matches in the 1980s and '90s, Duggan will make an appearance at Savini Comics, 430 E. Broadway, beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.

Duggan will be signing autographs and also doing a question-and-answer session for those with VIP tickets. Tickets begin at $40, which is good for one autographed item or 8x10 photo. A combo package is available for $60 which includes two autographs and the VIP package is $125 and includes three autographs, a photo and admission to the question-and-answer session. The VIP package is limited to 40 people. Those in attendance may also take a photo with Duggan for $40.

Duggan was a fan favorite who had high profile matches against the likes of Andre the Giant and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. In 1988, Duggan won the very first Royal Rumble match.

In 1994, he debuted in World Championship Wrestling, defeating future superstar Steve Austin in just over 30 seconds to win the United States championship.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

"We are very excited to welcome WWE Legend and Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan to Savini Comics on Saturday," said owner Nick Savini. "I remember him back in the '80s feuding with Harley Race and Haku for the right to be the "King" of the WWE and his big feud with Andre the Giant, which not everyone got to do back in the day, so I always thought this was a big deal for Hacksaw. Tickets are available at the door and 2x4's are welcome."

This is the second time Savini Comics has welcomed a former WWE wrestler to Logansport. Last August, Al Snow visited for an autograph session and also watched the WWE supercard Summerslam with VIP ticketholders.
