WVU Mountaineer brings a warm Gold & Blue welcome to OHMS

OAK HILL, WV (WVNS) – Fayette County students got a chance to welcome a very special guest into their gym. The 69th Mountaineer visited Oak Hill Middle School to spread positivity about math!

Mikel Hager is currently enrolled at West Virginia University and uses his poisition to positively influence children. Hager is a self-proclaimed “math field day wizard.”

The Gold and Blue mascot gave a solid piece of advice to any youth in the area.

“It doesn’t matter what or where you are – get involved in something. You know, you will be in middle school for three years, high school for four years, college for four years. You’ll have a lot better time and a lot better experience if you go out and join a club or play a sport; do something and not just stay in your room playing Fortnite,” said Hager.

Hager is proud to have over 400 visits to schools all over the Mountain State under his belt.
