ORIGINAL POST: SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A vehicle driving the wrong way on the interstate struck a bus, shutting down all lanes of I-15 southbound this morning near 400 North in Salt Lake City.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead after medical personnel were performing life-saving measures on I-15 this morning.

The driver of the bus has also received lesser, not life-threatening injuries.

Roden said the bus contained a group of around 22 ROTC cadets from Utah State University. Lt. Col. Angelique Pifer with ROTC told ABC4.com one cadet and one active-duty service member were taken to a local hospital for minor injuries. The group was headed from USU to a field training exercise.

All traffic is being diverted off I-15 at the 600 South exit where possible.
