Wreck hurts 3, closes northbound I-55 in Memphis
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Three people were injured in a wreck that shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 55 coming into downtown Memphis, causing major backups Thursday morning.
Memphis Police say three people were taken from the scene to Regional One in critical condition.
The wreck happened near the South Parkway overpass over I-55. A wrecked tractor-trailer rig could be seen on TDOT cameras, along with other vehicles.
MPD said the wreck was reported at 9:40 a.m. They asked drivers to avoid the area.
