Wreck forces closing of Route 9 in Spencer

SPENCER — Route 9 has reopened after being detoured because of a serious crash Wednesday morning.

Accident investigators were on scene, at the Greenville Street intersection, after the 10 a.m. crash.

The crash involved a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle, according to the office of Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. The motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition later Wednesday, the DA's office said.

The crash remains under investigation.
