World AIDS Day 2016

Observed worldwide on Dec. 1 since 1988, World AIDS Day is a designated time of the year when millions of people remember those who lost their lives to HIV, acknowledge progress made in responding to AIDS and recommit to ending the epidemic.

This year’s World AIDS Day theme is “Hands Up for #HIVPrevention," designed to bring attention to different aspects of HIV prevention and what they mean for specific groups of people, such as adolescent girls and women. (USAIDS)
