Worker rescued after falling down open shaft in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) —DC Fire and EMS said a man was rescued after falling down an open shaft in a building that was under renovation on Saturday morning.

First responders said they were dispatched to the 2500 block of 6th Street for a technical rescue.

Crews said the man was safely removed from the shaft and was transported to a trauma center with critical injuries.
