Worker injured, taken to hospital after accident on bridge project near Valley Center
A worker was injured at a construction site near Valley Center on Wednesday morning, a Sedgwick County press release said.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. while a construction crew was working to replace the bridge on 85th Street between Woodlawn and Oliver, the release read.
The contractor work crew was in the process of resetting a pole for the bridge when the worker was injured, the release said.
The worker was taken to a nearby hospital. The worker’s name, age and condition were not immediately available. It is unclear how the worker was injured.
The replacement of the bridge is part of the Sedgwick County Capital Improvement Program.
