Wood-fired pizza, craft cocktail spots are opening new uptown Charlotte locations
New locations of 800º Carolinas and Bar One Lounge are headed to uptown Charlotte.
This spring, 800º will open up at The Alley at Latta Arcade, serving its lineup of shareables, wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches and salads, plus beer and wine on tap. The 1,130-square-foot space it’s moving into is on the development’s lower level.
Other tenants open or coming on board at The Alley include BFF, Crisp, Felix Empanadas, Gather Floral Studio, Maneki (opening soon), Ohana Poke and The Dumpling Lady (opening this summer). In the coming weeks, at least four more new tenants are expected to be announced.
In late summer, Bar One Lounge will move into a 6,100-square-foot space on the ground floor of The Stuward, near Ink & Ivy and Not Just Coffee.
The restaurant will serve La Colombe coffee and locally sourced pastries in the morning. Diners can expect a full-service lunch and a curated dinner menu with selections from 800º to pair with craft cocktails.
Bar One, which will stay open until 2 a.m. on weekends, will also host live entertainment by Forty Deuce on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
“These additions to The Alley at Latta Arcade and The Stuward are the next step in our enhancements to the buildings themselves and to Uptown overall,” Jeff Merrian, director of investments and asset management at Northpond, said in a statement.
Southwick Architecture + Interiors is designing both of the Northpond Partners spaces, in addition to the common areas of The Alley and The Stuward.
Steven Jensen, managing partner of 800º Carolinas and Bar One Lounge, is looking forward to the openings. Bar One’s flagship location at Phillips Place in the SouthPark area expanded last year, and a South End location featuring both spots is also under construction and expected to open Dec. 1.
“When Northpond called about bringing Bar One & 800° to Uptown, the timing couldn’t have been better. Northpond’s vision for Uptown fits perfectly with our brands’ growth and expansion plans for the Carolinas,” he said.
