Kandee Johnson’s epic makeup transformations continually blow minds, and her latest video does not disappoint. The vlogger teamed up with fellow YouTuber Lilly Singh for an unbelievable makeover. In honor of the year’s two biggest celebrations — Halloween and Drake’s 31st birthday, of course — Johnson transformed the comedian and How to Be a Bawse author into the Canadian rapper.
Starting with a bare-face Singh, Johnson describes how she’s going to “Drake-ify” her — a process that ends up taking three hours for the face makeup alone and includes “erasing” her eyebrows in order to redraw them.
After completing the face makeup and shading, the transformation is almost complete. But applying the facial hair and drawing on the hair line is what puts the look over the edge. “Started as a woman, now we’re here. Started as a woman, now my whole beard here,” Singh sings along to the tune of Drake’s Started From the Bottom, getting herself into character.
Once the full transformation was finished, Singh decided to play around with her character a bit more with a parody video of her own. On her channel, which has more than 12 million subscribers, the 29-year-old rewrote a number of Drake’s hits into Halloween-themed tunes. The hilarious video follows the vlogger as she goes on a trick-or-treating excursion as the rapper.
Like most of Singh’s videos, the parody, posted on Monday, has already hit close to a million views with a large reaction from her highly devoted fan base. “Lilly, you deserve a YouTube Oscar if that exists,” one person commented, accurately summing up how everyone feels about the entire epic transformation.
