These Women’s March Moments and Signs Will Inspire You to Take Action in 2018

The first Women’s March on January 21, 2017, was the largest protest in the history of the country. This year, the numbers are a bit smaller, but the message from marchers is just as loud and strong. Though the official anniversary event is tomorrow, several marches and rallies took place today across the country, from Chicago to Atlanta to Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., as women and their allies turned out with signs and chants in support of the causes most important to them.

Similar to last year, protesters made signs in defense of reproductive rights, against racism, and in defense of the environment, and gathered together in their cities to speak out against President Trump and his administration. Here are some of the most inspiring signs from the Women’s March 2018 to remind us all of some of the things we’ll be fighting for this year.

The official theme of this year’s Women’s March is “Power to the Polls.” Women’s March Inc. is kicking off a voter registration tour this weekend in order to get more people registered to vote and flip Congressional seats from Republican to Democrat during the 2018 midterm elections.

The Women’s March was born of backlash to the election of Donald Trump, and the anti-Trump sentiment was strong again at this year’s marches:

Many marches had signs to remind us all that there are multiple issues that demand close attention, including anti-racism, climate change, and demands for a clean DREAM Act:

Other signs took a humorous approach to the marches.

As with last year, a lot of inspiring kids got in on the protest action, too.

There’s certainly still a lot to strive toward this year, and as the crowds today demonstrate, a lot of people are willing to fight.
