Woman wounded by stray bullet from shootout at barber shop; 5 people injured

UPDATE (4:34 p.m.): MPD has confirmed a fifth victim has arrived to the hospital by a personal vehicle.

All injuries appear to be non-life-threatening at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY: MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A shooting on Saturday, April 27th at a strip mall on Cottage Hill Road and Pleasant Valley Circle leaves four injured.

An argument between two customers at a Barbershop resulted in guns being fired. The two men who pulled guns were injured as well as another person in the barbershop at the time.

A woman across the street at Mobile Bay Harley Davidson was struck in the leg by stray gunfire.

A witness at the Harley Davidson tells News 5 he was seconds away from getting hit by a bullet.

“We were just walking over here walking through these gates over here and that’s when all of a sudden the shooting started,” the witness said.

The woman who was struck by a stray bullet was sitting on the bench at the front of the store, when the bullet struck her the witness went to her rescue.

“The girl sitting right over there on that bench started screaming, I got shot I got shot I got shot,” the witness said. “I ran over to her and she fell to the ground. So I picked her up and brought her inside she was bleeding out of her leg.”

All victims were taken to the hospital – no word on their condition at this time.
