Woman’s vehicle hit by ‘unknown projectile’ while driving on highway

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities are investigating an act of highway violence that occurred earlier this week on Interstate 805 southbound to the State Route 94 connector ramp.

On Tuesday around 8:35 p.m., a woman reported she was being followed by a pickup truck, possibly gray or blue, with stars and stripes-themed branding on the tailgate, Salvador Castro with the California Highway Patrol said in a news release Thursday.

The woman was driving a Toyota Corolla with two other men in the car when she got on to SR-94 eastbound and heard her two rear windows break, according to authorities.

Upon investigation, CHP determined the damage was caused by an unknown projectile.

Authorities shut down I-805 southbound to SR-94 eastbound transition during the investigation.
