Woman stirs controversy after sharing reasoning for ‘rejecting’ her new potential roommate: ‘That is very reasonable’

A woman rejected a potential roommate but is second-guessing her decision.

No shade, but it's time to stop mooching off your parents' Amazon Prime — here's why

She shared the dilemma on Reddit’s “Am I the A******? (AITA)” forum. The 26-year-old used a roommate matching service to find a new flatmate. She found a good candidate but then discovered the potential roommate was six months pregnant. The Reddit poster told the pregnant woman it wasn’t a good fit. But the woman didn’t take it well.

Walmart has the best toy selection for all the kids on your list this holiday season:

AITA for rejecting a potential roommate for being pregnant? I moved into a new place and was looking for a roommate,” the Reddit poster said. “This girl and I matched on the search website and we talked about the apartment and our personalities and stuff and decided it’ll be a great fit, but then she told me she was six months pregnant. I told her that’s a deal-breaker for me because I have two little nieces so I’ve seen what a house looks like with a baby and she went OFF on me.”

The pregnant woman unloaded a ton of accusations at the Reddit poster.

“She basically implied that I was a selfish a****** who’s immature and probably doesn’t want a single mother roommate because of the stigma,” the Reddit poster explained. “And how I’m the reason women stay in abusive relationships because they have nowhere to go. I didn’t think I was in the wrong but the way she exploded on me kind of shook me and now I don’t know…”

Redditors didn’t think the poster was wrong.

“Having a kid around can have a massive effect on your home environment. Refusing to be someone’s roommate because of that is very reasonable,” someone commented.

“She is the one being selfish acting like she’s entitled to someone’s house,” another wrote.

“This is a completely valid reason not to room with her,” a person said.
