Woman stabbed outside Lenexa apartment, suspect in custody: police

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Lenexa Police Department reported that one woman was injured in a stabbing at an apartment complex Sunday evening.

Police said that officers were dispatched to the 17400 block of West 86th Terrace at around 4:30 p.m. when they found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times outside.

Shortly after, 29-year-old William Clayton of Spring Hill, Kansas was located close by, and police took him into custody. According to investigators, the woman and Clayton were in a domestic relationship.

Clayton is currently being held at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and is being charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Lenexa police said the woman is hospitalized with serious injuries.
