Woman stabbed to death inside Harlem apartment

A woman was fatally stabbed in Harlem on Sunday night, and her killer remains on the loose, according to police.

A man slashed the victim in the neck with a sharp object around 5:40 p.m. inside an apartment in a residential building on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. near W. 136th St., cops said. He then took off in an unknown direction.

Medics rushed the woman, who has not yet been identified, to Harlem Hospital, where she was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Cops believe the woman knew her killer.

It did not appear that the victim had lived in the apartment where she was stabbed, which was considered “transient housing” where people regularly moved in and out, police said.

There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
