Woman slashed by stranger on subway in latest unprovoked NYC attack

A 22-year-old woman was slashed by a stranger on a Queens subway train, police said Thursday, the latest in a string of unprovoked attacks to rattle the city.

The attacker approached the victim on a Manhattan-bound E train as it neared the Queens Plaza station and slashed her left leg with a sharp object at about 11:40 p.m. Friday, cops said.

He ran off the train without having said a word and has not been caught.

The stunned victim stayed on the train, exiting at Manhattan’s Lexington Ave.-E. 53rd St. station. She called police, and medics took her to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell in stable condition.

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the suspect and asked the public’s help identifying and tracking him down.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
