Woman shot, killed near Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink station

ST. LOUIS – A woman was fatally shot Saturday afternoon near the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink station in St. Louis.

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of DeBaliviere Avenue.

Investigators say a woman was shot in the head. She was deemed “not conscious and not breathing” upon arrival.

Authorities are poring through Metro surveillance cameras in hopes to identify and arrest the shooter.

FOX 2 talked the head of Bi-State Development, Taulby Roach. He says that the system was safe and that Bi-State has a number of officers and transit security to protect passengers on the train. Roach added that security can’t be everywhere.

Passengers who talked with FOX 2 after the shooting claim there wasn’t enough security ahead of the shooting. One passenger said she has seen altercations on the train in which security didn’t even intervene.
