Woman robbed, shot after man steals car with her inside: MPD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a woman was kidnapped, robbed, and shot in the leg last month when a man stole a vehicle while she was still inside.

Charlton Blue, 36, is charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, carjacking, employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony, and two counts of aggravated robbery.

On March 22, police say a man reported that he was sitting with a woman in a parked GMC Acadia on Trigg Avenue in the Soulsville area.

A man, later identified as Charlton Blue, approached him and pointed a black handgun at him, reports state. The victim didn’t speak English, so he did not understand what Blue was saying.

Shortly afterward, Blue stopped the car. According to reports, he took the woman’s phone and $700 in cash before shooting her in the left leg.

MPD says Blue got out of the car and left the scene on foot.
