Woman riding across America for mental illness stops in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A woman is riding her bike across the country to honor her late son.

Debbie Curtis is traveling from San Diego to New York in honor of her son Brock, who died from suicide. She started the foundation “4 Team Brock” to help raise awareness for mental illness.

She’s traveling the country and sharing her story with others.

“Not shocking, but sad that there’s so many people who have been touched by mental illness or suicide,” says Curtis. “So, I am really grateful that destigmatizing mental illness is an important part of our mission, too.”

Curtis spent Saturday in Wichita before moving on to Eureka Sunday.
