Woman rescued after falling 200 feet near Millerton Lake

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) –A woman had to be rescued near Millerton Lake Monday morning after falling 200 feet, according to Cal Fire.

Rescue crews responded to the area of Sky Harbor and El Lado Road above the lake around 4:00 a.m.

Rescue crews say two adults,  a boyfriend and a girlfriend,  were on a cliffside when the woman slipped. Crews say it took two hours to rescue the woman using a rope pulley system attached to a fire truck to get her out.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with scrapes and bruises, according to fire crews.
