Woman pleads guilty to straw purchasing firearms

BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A Beckley woman pleaded guilty to false statements made during the purchase of firearms.

According to court documents, on June 19, 2021, Keniesha Brack, 27, of Beckley bought a Glock model 27 GEN5 .40-caliber pistol and a Glock model 30 .45-caliber pistol from a Mount Hope store. She then admitted that she lied on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Federal Firearms Transaction Records Form 4473 that she was the buyer of the guns when she knew she was buying them for someone else.

On June 13, 2021, Brack went to the R+R Gun Show at the Beckley Armory in Beckley. At the show, she bought a Taurus model G3C 9mm pistol, a Taurus model G2C 9mm pistol and a Glock model 33GEN4 .357-caliber pistol from a Federal Firearm Licensee. She admitted that lied on the ATF Form 4473 that she was the buyer of the guns when she knew she was buying them for someone else.

A couple weeks later, on June 25, 2021, Brack bought a Glock model 36 .45-caliber pistol and a Glock model 43X 9mm pistol from a Beckley store. Brack admitted that she also lied on the ATF Form 4473 that she was the buyer of the firearms when she knew she was buying them for someone else.

Brack is scheduled to be sentenced on June 20, 2024, and faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
