Woman killed in St. Roch crash, homicide investigation underway
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal crash in the St. Roch neighborhood on Monday, March 11.
According to the NOPD, the crash happened around 11:05 a.m. at the corner of St. Roch Avenue and Marais Street.
Man convicted for 2022 ‘serial murders’ in New Orleans
Officers said when they arrived at the location, they learned a woman had been declared dead on the scene.
Initially, the NOPD reported the incident was a traffic fatality. However, it’s now being investigated as a homicide.
Investigators said a Ford SUV crashed into a building in the 2300 block of Marais Street. A man, who was driving the vehicle, was detained at the scene.
