A woman was killed after Russia launched a rocket attack on a residential area of Selydove, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine's Internal Affairs Ministry reported.

The lifeless body of a 63-year-old woman was recovered from under the rubble of a private residential building.

A private residential building was destroyed and a fire broke out in two houses because of the attack. 11 houses, an administrative building, and a shop also suffered damages, the ministry added.

The Russians shelled populated areas in Donetsk Oblast 17 times in the past day, Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin added.

Russian troops attacked a high-rise building in Selydove on April 8. Five local residents were injured, including an elderly couple and a 16-year-old girl.
