Woman injured when car runs off the road, flips in Cahokia Heights
An 18-year-old East St. Louis woman was injured Friday in a single-vehicle accident in Cahokia Heights, according to police Detective DeMarius Thomas.
The driver, whose identity was not released, sustained a leg injury and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, Thomas said.
Police received a call about the accident on Lake Drive at 11:23 a.m. Thomas said when officers arrived in the 8000 block, firefighters were already down an embankment trying to free the woman from the vehicle.
The driver lost control of her car, which flipped off the road and flipping off the road and into the embankment, Thomas said.
