Police said the 29-year-old, who they have not yet publically identified, refused to get out of her car when she was asked to perform sobriety tests. Then, officers said she became “physically combative and resisted arrest.”

That’s when she is accused of hitting an officer in the face with a cell phone.

According to officials, the officer’s eye was injured as a result.

In addition, police said, a gun that was previously reported stolen was found in the woman’s vehicle.

The children were turned over to a family member, said police.
