Woman hit, killed while trying to cross road in Gentilly Terrace
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car while trying to cross the street in the Gentilly Terrace neighborhood on Friday, May 25.
The New Orleans Police Department reported the crash happened just after 5 a.m. at the intersection of Gentilly Boulevard and Spain Street.

When officers got to the scene, they found a woman unresponsive and lying in the street. She was pronounced dead by EMS.
According to the NOPD, she was trying to cross the road when a car that was traveling westbound on Gentilly Boulevard hit her.
The driver of the car stopped after the crash and tried to give aid to the woman. They stayed at the scene and are reportedly cooperating with police.

The crash caused road closures Friday morning.
