Woman gets in ‘traumatic’ fight with fiancé’s son’s mom, grandma at Ville Platte hospital

VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) — The Ville Platte Police Department is currently investigating a fight that took place beside an 8-year-old boy’s hospital bed at the Mercy Regional Medical Center.

Hope Semien said she came to the hospital to visit her fiancé’s 8-year-old son when she was attacked by the boy’s mother and grandmother.

With the fight taking place besides the 8-year old’s hospital bed, Simeon describes the event as traumatic.

“Hopefully I can get enough counseling to get through this,” Semien said. “I mean, it’s not easy because it happened in front of the child. I just don’t understand why they went about this way. I don’t get it. I’m lost in this situation.”

In the time since the incident, Ville Platte Police Chief Al Perry Thomas said the boy’s mother, Kebreya Tezeno and grandmother Shalonda Tezeno were both cited for battery.

However, Simeon fears for the effects this incident will have on the 8-year-old boy who witnessed it.

“It’s all about the child,” Semien said. “He is the wronged in all of this. He’s the one that is the victim in this whole situation. It’s not just me, it’s him, because he was innocent, an innocent child.”

“There are two sides to every story, and the truth was not told,” Shalonda Tezeno told News 10. “She says the fight was not premeditated as Semien was asked to leave the hospital room on multiple occasions and refused.”

While citations were issued, Thomas said this is still an ongoing investigation.
