Woman found dead in northwest Canton apartment

CANTON – Police are investigating the death of a woman found unresponsive Wednesday evening on the floor of her apartment.

Police called at 7:23 p.m. to check on the welfare of Tiara Burch, 26, at her home in the 500 block of 11th Street NW, found her dead, according to a news release from Chief Jack Angelo.

Investigators with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were called to assist detectives, Angelo said.

The cause of Burch's death has not been determined, but the release lists her death as a homicide, the second in the city so far this year.

Angelo asked that anyone with any information call detectives at 330-489-3144, adding that anonymous tips would be welcomed via the city's Tip411 or Stark County CrimeStoppers.
