Woman dies in Orchard Mesa murder-suicide

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A woman left in critical condition following an attempted murder-suicide in Orchard Mesa has died, according to a release from the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office has completed its postmortem examinations and identified the deceased as Martin and Cynthia Reid. Martin Reid, 61, sustained a gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death is suicide. Cynthia Reid, 67, also sustained a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death is homicide.

Toxicology testing is currently pending. The coroner’s office will not be releasing any further information since this is an active investigation. Any further details on this case will be released by the Grand Junction Police Department.
