Woman dies after early morning crash in Salina

SALINA, Kan. (KSNW) — A woman is dead after crashing a car into a power pole and tree in Salina.

It happened shortly after 12:30 Friday morning on Belmont near Mayfair Drive. Police say a 21-year-old woman was driving south on Belmont in a 2012 Jaguar when she failed to negotiate the curve in the roadway and crashed into an Evergy power pole and then a tree.

Crop-duster hits power lines in Sumner County

The woman died at the scene.

Her 22-year-old passenger had to be pulled from the car. EMS took her to Salina Regional Hospital in critical condition.

Police say speed was a factor in the crash.

India’s mobile payments regulator is likely to extend the deadline for imposing market share caps on the popular UPI payments rail by one to two years, sources familiar with the matter told TechCrunch. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), a special unit of the Reserve Bank of India, plans to extend the deadline for introducing a 30% cap on the market share of individual UPI ecosystem participants, the sources said. The decision is expected to greatly benefit Google Pay and Walmart-owned PhonePe that currently dominate the market for UPI payments in the country.
