Woman dead after North Las Vegas head-on collision

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman is dead after a head-on collision Monday evening in North Las Vegas, police said.

On Monday, April 8, at around 6 p.m., officers with the North Las Vegas Police Department responded to a collision in the area of Camino Al Norte south of Lone Mountain Road.

Arriving officers found a two-vehicle collision involving a white Honda Civic and a gray Kia Forte.

When medical personnel arrived, they pronounced the driver of the Honda Civic, a woman in her 20s, dead on the scene.

The driver and two passengers in the Kia Forte were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver and one of the passengers were in critical condition while the other passenger was listed as non-life-threatening as of Tuesday morning.

Police said a preliminary investigation showed the Honda was driving north on Camino Al Norte, south of Lone Mountain, while the Kia was driving south.

For unknown reasons, the Honda drove onto the wrong side of the roadway and hit the Kia head-on. Police are still investigating, but do not believe speed or impairment were factors.

The identification of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
