Woman converts letterbox into an unnerving huntsman spider nursery
We often dread checking our letterboxes, knowing that there good be a bill, or an wedding invitation, inside.
Perhaps more terrifying that any of those, one Australian woman has discovered a sizeable huntsman spider hanging out in hers — guarding a nest of hundreds of its eight-legged babies.
Natasha Joyce posted the above footage to YouTube Monday, saying that the spider (christened Hortense) and her "newly made egg sac" have been chilling there since October.
Rather than recoil in fear, Joyce chose to make a comfy home for the arachnid and her babies, with neighbourhood children even making colourful cardboard "furniture" for the young'ens.
Along with the video celebrating the arrival of the stuff from Ron Weasley's nightmares, Joyce dubbed the spider Hortense, the huntsman protector of the post.
May Hortense and her army of baby fear machines have a great life inside their letterbox home.
